All Creatures

One if the most beautiful aspects to the worship of our Creator is the integration of His creation into worship. Our early Christian fathers and mothers seem to recognize this beauty so much better than we do at present. Yet, the murmurs of their devotion is apparent even today. In so many Bible stories and so many worship songs and hymns, we hear distant whispers of the goodness and of the beauty of creation. And how beautiful and pure is that recognition. That we humans are not the only creations created with the purpose of worship... That we share the Father's affection and that we share the opportunity to live lives that are reflective of the goodness of the creator... That worship is not about who we are and what we bring but about who He is.

And He has created creation, all of creation, to worship Him.

VERSE 1
All creatures of our God and King
Lift up your voice and with us sing
O praise Him! Allelujah!
Thou, burning sun with golden beam
Thou, silver moon with softer gleam
O praise Him! O praise Him!
Allelujah! Allelujah! Allelujah!

VERSE 2
Let all things their Creator bless
And worship Him in humbleness
O praise Him! Allelujah!
Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son
And praise the Spirit, Three-in-One
O praise Him! O praise Him!
Allelujah! Allelujah! Allelujah!

VERSE 3
All the redeemed washed by His blood
Come and rejoice in His great love
O praise Him! Allelujah!
Christ has defeated every sin
Cast all your burdens now on Him
O praise Him! O praise Him!
Allelujah! Allelujah! Allelujah!

BRIDGE
To Him who loves us
And is returning be honor
For we shall see Him in His glory

VERSE 4
He shall return in pow'r to reign
Heaven and earth will join to say
O praise Him! Allelujah!
Then who shall fall on bended knee?
All creatures of our God and King
O praise Him! O praise Him!
Allelujah! Allelujah! Allelujah!

Written by Francis of Assisi, circa 1225
